Reverb & delay that doesn’t clutter
Adding just the right amount of reverb, that would give the atmosphere, but wouldn’t clutter the mix, is usually virtually impossible. Well, was. By sending only prominent parts of your signal to the reverb, you get the atmosphere, but you still keep the signal clean. By sending the subtle parts of the signal instead, you can fill the voids in your audio without drowning the transients in reverb. And the same thing is true with a delay.

That’s Phantomix’s Compressor module. Or if the transients are not prominent enough, use the Transient module. Or maybe the subtle hits need to be more prominent, so you just switch the Phantomix to gate mode. The possibilities are endless…
