The NEOLD RZ062 is a modern reimagining of the legendary 1960s Siemens Klangfilm tube equalizer, celebrated for some of the sweetest EQ curves in recording history. Dial in a beautifully tailored balance of the dedicated Pivot and Presence modules within a streamlined stereo and mid/side matrix, delivering the same vintage tube tone-shaping as the original hardware to your DAW channels, mixes and masters.
Supercharged
Expressive controls put the EF804S and ECC81 tube amps at your command. Focus shifts the character between the lively edge of odd-order and the smooth depth of even-order harmonics, offering nuanced tonal shaping. Drive pushes the tubes with up to 48 dB of compensated gain, while Mix lets you dial in just the right amount of dry signal for refined tonal layering.
Timeless class
The RZ062 overcomes the original unit’s coarse 2 dB step limitations. While classic mode remains for bold, deliberate moves, the controls can also be switched to continuous sweeps for precise adjustments. EQ and Drive can be used together or split for flexible workflows. From subtle vocal sweetening to full mix lifts – classic tone meets modern finesse.
Own a rare piece of recording history
Designed in Germany in the late 1950s for installation in mixing consoles, the Siemens Klangfilm Universalentzerrer (universal equalizer) was originally intended for broadcast, being used to eliminate undesired studio acoustics and disturbances like impact noise or wind flutter.
In the following decades, the RZ062 became a trusted tool in European recording studios, valued for its gentle tonal shaping and sound correction, and gaining a reputation as one of the finest-sounding tube equalizers ever made, especially prized on vocals and for mastering orchestral recordings.
Today, original Klangfilm RZ062 units are extremely rare due to their limited production and complex design, and command several thousand dollars per module – should they appear for sale at all.
