Following on from the success of Grenadier and Brink, the suspense journey continues with Hunted – a new cinematic instrument for Kontakt that plunges you into a world of grit, danger, and unstoppable momentum.

Hunted delivers 10 deeply cinematic presets designed to capture the raw pulse of tension and suspense. Each sound has been sculpted with precision – from brooding, sub-heavy drones and relentless low-end textures to piercing, high-frequency tones that cut through with surgical clarity. The result is an instrument that thrives in the shadows, where every note feels like a heartbeat before impact.

At the heart of Hunted are eight intelligent, MIDI-assignable controls that let you shape and evolve each sound in real time. From subtle, hollow resonance to raw, abrasive intensity, these parameters give you expressive command to build suspense, motion, and emotional depth – turning static tones into living, breathing soundscapes.

Developed for composers of film, television, and game sound, Hunted captures the essence of tension – the moments before impact, where darkness, motion, and emotion collide – the tension isn’t just heard – it’s felt.

Controls:

Charge– Unleash subterranean power. Charge adds a deep, resonant undertone that rumbles beneath your sound, amplifying weight and tension.
Seraph– Cast a cold shimmer across your mix. Seraph introduces a metallic brilliance – icy, ethereal, and piercingly clear.
Canyon– Open up vast, echoing space. Canyon surrounds your sound with immense reverb, evoking distance, depth, and cinematic scale.
Grit– Add raw energy and friction. Grit layers in distortion and tonal grit, intensifying every note with edge and aggression.
Fuse– Merge and morph your layers. Fuse smears boundaries, blending tones into one fluid, evolving sonic mass.
Layer I / II / III – Shape your atmosphere. These controls balance the volume of each sound layer, allowing you to blend evolving pads, haunting leads, and low-end textures into a single, unified voice.
LPF– Roll off the highs to reveal warmth or summon deep, shadowy tones.
Attack – Adjust the layer attack time.

Performance Note
Hunted makes use of Kontakt’s advanced engines, including Wavetable, Time Machine Pro, and Tone Machine – along with several high-quality effects that contribute to its powerful and detailed sound. As a result, some presets can be moderately CPU intensive.

Hunted was developed and tested on a 2013 Intel iMac (3.4 GHz Quad-Core i5, 24 GB RAM) and runs smoothly without issues. However, if you plan to layer multiple instances, we recommend freezing or bouncing tracks to help optimise CPU performance.

Full MIDI Control
Assign any knob or slider to a MIDI CC Controller by right-clicking it, selecting ‘Learn MIDI CC Automation’ and moving your desired control.

All eight knobs support ‘Host Automation’ so you can automate them in your DAW. In Logic Pro, use Smart Controls, and in Cubase, Quick Controls.

For Maschine users, the eight knobs are pre-mapped to the controller knobs for easy access.
